RUGBY FOOTBALL RETORT ON PAY FOR PLAYERS
WELLINGTON.' Jan 29. “I would not waste my time discussing the proposal,” said the chairman of the New Zealand Rugby Union management committee, Mr S. S. Dean, in reference to the suggestion made in Timaru by the All Black centre, M. P. Goddard, that the time was opportune for consideration of adequate pay for players on tour.
Mr Dean added that the idea was contrary to the ideals of Rugby.
