Three Horses Destroyed FA AUCKLAND, Jan. 29. The first day of the Auckland Rae ing Club’s mid-summer meeting was held at Ellerslie to-day in fine wea ther The going was firm. The totaiisator handled £163,9541 compared with £137,7481 on the corresponding day last year, an increase of £26,206 C. McColl, rider of Harris Tweed in the Orewa I-Itirdles was suspend' ed for one month for causing interference to Bold Tide. An inquiry was held into the falling of Sly Robin in the Ferry Handicap. It was found that the fall was caused through Sly Robin getting on the heels of Alnajo, the oc curence being accidental. As the result of injuries received when they fell during the running ol the Wynyard Handicap, ' Norman Knight and Fox Rose were destroy ed. Airlie, who was pulled up during the running of the Orewa Hurdles, collapsed some time after the it-.ee and died. Results:—
