AMERICANS GO WILD ABOUT N.Z. SONG
LONDON, January 28
British recording companies, in a drive to export gramophone records to the United States, sold 400,000 recordings of Gracie Fields singing “Now is The Hour”. An official of one company said: "Towards the end of December the Americans .suddenly went wild about it”.
