POLAND’S NEW MEASURE TO FORCE SAVINGS

LONDON, Jan. 29.

Under a new Bill making saving compulsory, all Polish citizens, earning more than £l5O yearly must deposit in State and municipal banks a sum varying from 3 per cent, for those earning £l5O, and 11 per cent, for those earning £6OO yearly, says The Times Warsaw correspondent. Persons earning more than £6OO yearly must save from one-tenth to one-fifth of their yearly income.

The Finance Minister said the Bill aimed at making saving a habit, and at inducing hoarders to put theii money into circulation.
