FIVE MORE CRUISERS BEING SCRAPPED BY BRITAIN

(Rec. 8.25) LONDON, Jan. 29 Five more cruisers, namely, the Dani, Delhi, Caledon, Colombo, and Kent are to be scrapped. The Civil Lord of the Admiralty, Mr Edwards, announced this to the House of Commons yesterday. He said that they were immediately available for scrapping and had been reported to the appropriate agency for this purpose. The Daily Telegraph says: A statement is expected shortly about the future of battleships, Malaya, Resolution, Revenge, and Famillies. This recalls the announcement of the scrapping of four battleships and battle cruiser, and that other ships, including seven cruisers were to be sold or scrapped during the next twelve months.
