A large number of mourners attended the funeral of the late Air John Stewart Barnett. The R.S.A. was well represented by the many returned men present. R.S.A. members were the bearers and they laid a Union Jack over thecasket. The Rev. Machell conducted the service at the residence and at the graveside.

Miss Mavis Blom returned home on Wednesday last, after spending six weeks in Australia.

Mr and Mrs V. Blom, of Wellington, are the guests of the former’s brother. ■’

Mrs W. Evans leaves early next month for a tri]) to England, where she will visit her relatives. She will return next year.
