The total production of the U.S. aviation industry, both’in cargo and combat planes, during 1943 will reach a value of over twenty thousand million dollars, or a fourth of the United States war budget for the year, and one seventh of the estimated national income. This is stated in a report bv the United States Office of War Information. Two and a half million workers are now constructing planes. Almost all plants are cable of conversion to the construction of commercial aircraft.
