Mr. and Mrs. W. Dwan, Hokitika, who have been visiting Christchurch, will return home this morning.

Hon. W. Lee Martin M.P. for Raglan, arrived in Greymouth by plane yesterday to attend the funeral of his late brother-in-law, Mr E. Warnes.

The late Mr Earnest Warnes whose funeral takes place this afternoon, is survived by three sisters (not two as yesterday reported), the third of whom is Mrs N. C. Grigg, of Milson, Palmerston North.

A Washington cablegram announced that Major Kermit Roosevelt died in Alaska where he had been stationed for several months. Both in the last war and this he had served with the British Army before America’s entry into the war.

■ Rev. A. D. Horwell, C.F.. Minister of St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Greymouth, since 1939, who some time ago was released for service as chaplain to the Armed Forces, has resigned from the pastorate of St. John’s. Mr Horwell contemplates serving overseas.
