blackball win again.

The main League football fixture i yesterday, Blackball v.. Runanga i seniors, was plaved at Runanga uni der heavy ground conditions. Play j was scrappy but there were .occasional snappy back movements and good handling was general. Blackball were definitely superior, their backs mastering the whole situation, and they won by 22 points to nil. The teams were:— Blackball: Nuttall. Jamieson, W. Mountford, O’Donnell, McNaughton, C. Mountford, Ord, Williams, Howden, Baillie, Phillips, Reynolds, Kirk. Runanga? Bowman, Leitch, N. McTigue, Clelland, C. McTigue. Lee, Higsdn, Glynn, Merriman, Stevens, Dalziel. Fitzgibbons, Clark. Runanga won the toss and elected to plav north. There was a slight southerly wind which was a little disconcerting. Loose forward play be- i gan the game, with Blackball on at- j tack. A Blackball attack was halted on the Runanga line and- fierce. scrimages unending took place. Finally from a scrum. Ord secured and dived right through to score. Howden failed at conversion. Blackball 22— Runanga 0. • Steven’s attempted to goal from a penalty but failed and the full time whistle blew. Mr. J. Griffen was referee. Playum at Ngahere, Ngahere seniors defeated Reefton by 18 points to nil. Mr. A. Kennedy was referee In the third grade matches. Blackball defeated Runanga 10 points to 5. and Brunner eleven defeated Marist five, at Wingham Park.
