HOKITIKA, June 3. •
Mr. and Mrs. J. Frew and family left on Tuesday, for Christchurch, Mr. Frew having been transferred from Ross to the Railway Locomotive Branch in Christchurch. They resided in Ross for the last seven years and prior to their departure, were farewelled by the people of Ross, representatives of the Presbyterian Church, Ross Golf Club and the Patriotic Committee. Mr. Frew was also tendered a farewell by the Railway staff at Ross. Mr. and Mrs Frew received presentations from various organisations. Collections in Westland County towards this year’s allocation lor the Patriotic Fund total £849 17s Bd. The quota for the County is £2,484 4s Bd.
