(Rec. 1.15.) LONDON. June 1. The North-west African Air Forces on Monday continued to wage their offensive against Italy and against her island bases.

Flying Fortresses of the Strategic Air Force again attacked Foggia, on the Adriatic. There the airfield and administrative buildings were well covered with bombs. Fires were started in railway marshalling yards. Lightning bombers carried out further attacks on communications in the Island of Sardinia. They hit dock installations, power stations and barrack buildings. Medium bombers again attacked the Island of Pantellaria of the coast of Tunisia. Four enemy planes were destroyed in combat. Another was shot down. Two Allied planes are missing from all of the operations.
