WEDDING
CURTIS—McGRATH. The wedding took place recently at St. Patrick’s Church, Greymouth, of Kathleen Mary, second daughter of Mr and Mrs P. McGrath, South Beacn, and Allen James, eldest son of Mr and Mrs L. Curtis, Preston Road. Rev. Father Long officiated and celebrated Nuptial Mass. Miss Joan Walker was organist. During, the Mass solos were sung by Miss Gladys Saunders, cousin of the bridegroom. The bride, escorted by her father, wore a model gown of ivory satin, cut on Victorian lines. The bodice was trimmed with guipure lace, the skirt formed a train, and her embroidered veil fell from a cluster of carnations, to form a second train. She carried a sheaf of chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. Misses Pat and Eileen McGrath, sisters of the bride, were bridesmaids and wore frocks of blue and pink georgette respectively, made on similar lines to that of the bride, and turbans to tone. They carried bouquets of roses and chrysanthemums. Mr Fred Saunders, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man, and Mr Mervyn Pope was groomsman. The reception was held at Herb Moore’s, where the bride’s mother received the guests. She wore a navy blue coat, with haf to tone. She was assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, who wore a chalk-striped navy blue costume, with hat to match. They wore shoulder sprays of chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. When Mr and Mrs Curtis left for Christchurch the bride wa s wearing an American model frock of black wool georgette topped with a musquash coatee, the gift of the bridegroom, and black accessories.
