MR CHURCHILL’S RETURN

Via North Africa VISIT TO ALGIERS. LONDON, May 30. Axis radio stations report Mr. Churchill has been at Gibraltar for the past few days. He has seen Generals Eisenhower, Alexander, Montgomery, Giraud and Catroux. Vichy radio said that Mr. Churchill, after conferences at Gibraltar, left for an unknown destination. Berlin radio stated Mr. Churchill arrived at Gibraltar by air on Thursday evening from Immediately he conferred with Generals Eisenhower, Alexander, Montgomery, Giraud and Catroux. “It is certain that the conference dealt with the problems of further military operations and spheres of British and American interests in North Africa," added the radio.Berlin radio, quoting a report from La Linea says: There are indications that Mr. Churchill has left Gibraltar for Algiers. The purpose of his visit to Algiers will probably be to attend the meeting of Generals Giraud and de Gaulle, and to exert his personal influence, if necessary.’
