LEAGUE FOOTBALL
management committee MEETING. Mr. J. Stokes (vice-chairman) presided at the weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the West Coast Rugby League last evening. There were also present Messrs W. Barlow, A. Kyje, J. Anisy, W. O’Neill, A. Fielding (referee) B. Ramsay, B. Rathbun and R. J. Harrington (Secretary). The President (Mr. A. H. McKane) was in attendance in the early part of the meeting. Mr. O’Neill gave notice to move that a sole selector replace the present number of three selectors for the West Coast representatives. Kumara juniors were declared winners of the Challenge Shield and the One Round competition. . Blackball were declared winners of the Bradshaw Cup.
'The Secretary said that Ngahere and Runanga wished to challenge Blackball for the Challenge Cup. Ngahere wished to play next Sunday.. The chairman said that next week’s meeting would be the last of the season, and he would like members to express their opinion as to whether .it should be a meeting of the executive. Mr. Rathbun moved and Mi-. Kyle seconded that it be a meeting of the Management. Committee. Mr. W. Moore, Junr, reported that the Junior Advisory Board had declared Marist A. and C. and Runanga B. the winners of the Schoolboys' competition. The Marist-Runanga third grade Brown Shield match on Sunday would be the final game of the season. The report was received and adopted. In reply to Mr. O’Neill Mr. Moore said that the Herb Moore Shield was to be played for as the final of the Knock Out. FIXTURES FOR SUNDAY. SENIOR CHALLENGE SHIELD. Blackball v. Ngahere at Blackball at 2.30 p.m. (Mr. W. Allen). THIRD GRADE FINAL BROWN SHIELD. Marist v. Runanga at Wingham Park at 2.30 p.m. (Mr. S. Smith). Schoolboys (Saturday). Final field day at Nelson Creek. Knock Out final. (All referees available).
