GOLDMINING
MOSSY CREEK. The annual meeting of Mossy Creek Gold Mining Company was held at the Oddfellows’ Hall last evening, the 1 Chairman of Directors, Mr. P. C. Heaphy, presiding. The retiring Directors, Messrs S. Sullivan and J. McLeod, were re-elected unopposed. Mr. M. Keating was reappointed Auditor. The annual report, which was adopted, indicated that the dredge had now seven months’ work ahead upon ground which is better than that recently treated, after which it will enter a more level area of considerable extent, obviating the necessity to dig a proportion of bottom such as recently has had to be done, in order to maintain a workable water level. It was anticipated fiat a return of 20 ozs. weekly would cover all overhead and taxation costs, and that there would be a satisfactory margin of gold nb"ve that amount for the payment of dh idends. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the Chairman.
