DOMINION NEWS

[Per Press Association]. WELLINGTON, September 21. A contract has been let for the erection of important additions to Victoria University College, Wellington. It is some time since additions of moment have been made to the college. In the meantime, the demands on space have been steadiy growing, especially in some of the scientific sections, and the space required for administration purposes. The successful tenderer was Christian! and Nielsen (N.Z.), Ltd. The additions will consist of two substantial blocks, a biological block and an administration block. The cost is £50,000. The term of the contract is 12 months, which means that the building will probably be occupied before the end of next year. The archi- \ tects are Messrs Francis Swan and W. Gray Young, of Wellington. A birthday gift of live guineas will be given by the Under-Secretary for Housing, Mr. J. A. Lee, M.P., to the mother of the first baby born in a State-owned house. Mr. Lee said he did not know whether to call it a "Stork Derby,” or not, but he stipulated that the mother should be a bona fide tenant and not a visitor. Asked what would he do in the event of twins being born, Mr. Lee laughingly replied that at the risk of going ’broke,” he was prepared to give £5 5s each if quintuplets won the race.

The Full Court considered a motion by a defendant Harold William Frost,' dentist, of Auckland, to review and rescind an order granting an interim injunction made by Mr. Justice Reed on July 23. The effect of the injunction is to restrain the defendant, his servants or agents, from using in or in connexion with the defendant’s dentistry practice the name "Frost and Frost,” or any intimation to patients or the public that defendant’s dental practice is the same as, or is a continuation of any dental practice formerly carried on under the name “Frost and Frost” by the defendant, or by Frosts, Ltd., or by the plaintiff. Charles Francis Cooper, a dentist, of Wellington.

Counsel for Frost submitted that after May last, on which date an agreement between the present parties and other persons ceased to have effect, with relation to the matter now in question, plaintiff abandoned the name “Frost and Frosts," or any other name containing the term "Frost,” and plaintiff was endeavouring to set up some right to that name, which he had to show before he could obtain an injunction. The case was adjourned.
