NOTES. The Harbour Board last evening reported that the depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 26ft Bin. The Alexander is to sail to-day' with coal for Dargaville. The Kara is being delayed in loading by rain and she is not expected to sail before this morning for Petone, Wellington, and Miramar, with timber. The Kartigi is also being delayed by rain. She is expected to sail today if conditions improve, for Wellington. The Foxton which has been delayed by rain cannot sail before 6 p.m, to-day for Petone. The Omana was delayed by rain at New Plymouth and leaves there to-day and is due about to-morrow to load timber for Melbourne and Adelaide. The Poolta leaves Wellington tonight with cargo for Greymouth and Hokitika, and is due on Thursday, to load for return.

The Huanui, en route from Foxton to Greymouth, to load coal, experienced engine trouble, and put into Nelson for repairs. The Totara is expected to load coal at Greymouth on Saturday next, for Miramar. The' Kaimiro is expected to return to Greymouth on Monday next from Auckland and Portland to load again for those ports. The Waimea is due on Monday next to load timber for Onehunga.
