PALESTINE POLICY
STRONGLY ATTACKED By Egyptian Minister [Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] GENEVA, September 18. The feature of the morning session of the League of Nations Assembly was an attack that was made on the British plan for partition of Palestine by the Egyptian. Foreign Minister, Boutros Ghali Pasha. Declaring the plan would increase the hatred between the Jews and the Arabs, he sincerely expressed the fear that the creation in Palestine of a Jewish State would encourage “certain countries" to intensify pogroms against Jews. Boutros Ghali Pasha suggested that, instead of partition, Britain should negotiate a direct treaty with Palestine, as a whole, thereby recognising its sovereignty, and guaranteeing the rights of the Jews, Moslems, and the Christians alike, and also regulating and restricting immigration.
