GOLF

SYDNEY. September 16. The final of the amateur golf championship of Australia was won by H. L. Williams (Victoria), who beat T. Tanner (New South Wales), 1 up. A feature of the play was Tanner's plucky fight. He was 4 down at the twenty-seventh, and then played brilliantly, but could not get ahead of his opponent. Williams at times played masterly. This is Williams’ second win in the amateur title, his first being in 1931 Australian Title WON BY FORMER CADDY. (Received September 17, 9.55 p.m.) SYDNEY, September 17.
