THE WEATHER
[Per Press Association I. WELLINGTON, September 15. The weather report and forecast are as follows: — General situation: A depression is still centred near Chatham Island, but is moving eastwards, while an anti-cyclone is approaching from the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds moderate to strong south-westerly to southerly of gale force at times on parts of the East Coast and about Cook Strait, but decreasing to-morrow. Seas (N.Z. waters): Rough north jf Farewell Spit and south of East Cape and rather rough at places north of East Cape, but cfecreasing shortly; elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasmaii Sea: Moderate to fresh, but decreasing southerly winds. Seas moderate, with considerable, but decreasing swell. Weather: Fine in the western districts of .the South Island; elsewhere, changeable, with passing showers in many places, but a n improvement is probable almost generally by Thursday morning.
