DEBATING LEAGUE

UNITED v. TRINITY. At the United Debating Club’s hall last evening, a debate took place for the Kent Honours’ Board between Trinity Club (challengers) and United Club (holders). The subject was, "Should the Government take part in the organisation of Sport?” The affirmative was taken by the challengers, and the debate was judged by Mr. M. Daly, whose award was as follows :— Trinity (Affirmative): —Messrs A. H. Paterson (leader) 93. (reply 17); F. Mayell 75, G. Hill 77, T. McKay 79, team work 16; total 357. United (Negative):—Messrs D. C. Milne (leader) 91, (reply 18); J. Quintrell 76. C. J. Strongman 76, R. R. Dawber 91; team work. 18; total, 370.
