WAITAHU NOTES

[Our Own Correspondent]. The many friends or T. G. Gilmer will be glad to know that his hand is progressing as good as can be expected. Exceptionally heavy rain on Saturday evening, caused the postponement of the Waitahu Golf Club’s 500 tournament, but will be carried on as from Saturday, 18th September. Mr T. Blackadder (Maruia) was a visitor to relatives at Waitahu on Sunday. Heavy showers on Sunday kept most players off the local golf course. In fin eighteen hole match, for the buttons, N. McMahon and T. Malcolm, defeated P. Gallagher and F. Watts by 3 up and 2 to play. The former players heartily deserve their win and keen interest will be taken in their future play.
