S.S. “TEES” DOCKED
NO DAMAGE FOUND. CHRISTCHURCH, September 14. On her last voyage to the Chatham Islands, some weeks ago, it was thought that the steamer Tees may have touched some submerged object while steaming near Pitt Island in a very heavy sea. To-day, the vessel was docked for annual survey, and an examination of the hull disclosed no marks of any kind to indicate damage. It is now regarded as certain that the vessel was struck by a big cross sea, which was not seen in the darkness.
