C.I.O. BATTLE

TO OUST LABOUR FEDERATION. ’FRISCO AS BATTLEGROUND. I Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] (Received September 14, 9.30 p.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 13. Increased significance has been taken on by the waterfront dispute here, in which Harry Bridges’s C. 1.0. Longshoremen’s Organisation is opposing the San Francisco Teamsters’ Union, who have ceased hauling goods from waterfront stores, owing to a dispute over jurisdiction. The reason why the dispute has considerably increased in importance is owing to an official announcement that the Committee of Industrial Organisation have decided to make the Pacific Coast the national battleground of a light to finish against the American Federation of Labour. The leaders of the C. 1.0. are on their way to San Francisco to plan their strategy.
