Diirrancc Champion MEW ZEALAND LADY WINS. [Aus. A- N.Z. Cable Assn.J MOUNT KOSCIUSKO, Sept. 13. _ TJir American ski champion, R. E. Durrancc, won the Australian slalom championship on Saturday in brilliant style. Tn the international match so far the United Stales team has gained 100 points, the Australian team 76.50, and the New Zealand team 73.91 poin ts. Miss D. Aih’i), of Christchurch, won the Australian women’s slalom championship. with Miss P. Murphy (.New Zealand' fourth, Miss J. Beale (New Zealand) eighth, and Mrs. A. B. The Australian championship ski jump, which was combined with the triangular international event, was held to-day. Durrance again won with jumps of 35 and 40 metres., S. Bradley (America) was second. The New Zealanders, H. Wigley and B. McMillan, jumped 25 and 231, and 21 and 211 metres respectively. The Australian, Kaaten, fell in two attempts. Detailed results have not yet been determined, but the Americans have increased their lead in the match.
The langlauf event was won by S. Bradley, with Durrance second. Day third, Kaaten fourth and McMillan seventh.
Glaserfeld Wins DOWNHILL TITLE. AMERICANS WIN INTERNATIONAL MATCH. (Received September 14, 11.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, September 14. At Mount Koskiusko to-day, the Australian downhill skiing championship, combined with the international match and the inter-Dominion match, was held in brilliant sunshine, and there were spring snow conditions on the two-mile course, with a 2000 feet descent. H. Wigley and 13. McMillan represented New Zealand in the international match. Wigley brothers, McMillan, and B. Murphy represented New Zealand in Iho inter-Dominion event. The New Zealand women’s tca#i were Mrs Edwardcs, Miss P. Murphy, Miss B. Allen, and Miss J. Beale, three to count. B. Von Glaserfeld, of the Ski Club of Arlberg, won the men’s title in two minutes forty-seven seconds from the American, Durrance; while G. Day (Australia) was third. America won the international i match.
