The stench of bombs and of teargas bombs, were experienced when bombs were simultaneously exploded in twenty-four of the New York cine mas, half-way through, the night screenings. Thousands ol people stampeded into the streets Io escape the choking and nauseating fumes. Fifty people were injured. The majority'arc suffering from minor burns and cuts. Police squads rushed to the theatres to control the panic-stricken crowds. The outrage is attributed to a labour dispute.
