N.Z. OUT FOR 64
MATCH WITH IRELAND The Visitors Win (From the Special Correspondent of United Press Association with Team.) (Received September 12, 7.20 p.rn.) DUBLIN, September 12. The .New Zealand cricketers experienced a day remarkable in Dublin cricket, playing on a pitch helping the bowlers. The weather was dull. Ireland’s team collapsed, before bowling that was full of zest. Carson and Roberts put. the home team on the defensive by the quick capture of two wickets each. Then Gallichan and Moloney, with accurate spin bowling, finished the innings for 79 in under two hours.
The New Zealand team was then out in one hour by tricky spin bowling for 6-1 runs. Devastating fast medium off breaks by Boucher- did the damage. The analysis of Boucher read 5 wickets for 12 runs and 7 wickets for 13. Ireland’s second innings was a procession of the players. Cowie, who was called on for the first time'in the match, bowled flat out, and he took three wickets with four balls, and another wicket with the first ball of his next over. Al one time he had taken six wickets for one run. When New Zealand began their second innings, Lowry and Moloney batted steadily, and they gave the tourists an easy win by eight wickets. The wicket, assisted the bowlers, as was shown by an extraordinary proportion of the batsmen being clean bowled. A return match will be played on Tuesday. Ireland, in the first innings, made 79. Lambert (not out) 25, was top scorer. In the bowling, Moloney took three for 26, Gallichan 3 for 27, Carson 2 for 5, and Roberts 2 for 8. New Zealand’s first innings realised 64 runs.
