REEFTON NOTES.
(Our Own Correspondent). A meeting of the committee arrang ing the reception for the Duke and Duchess of Y’ork was held at the Council Chambers on Alonday evening, Air A. AI. Carroll (County Chairman) pre siding, and there being also present Alesdames I. Patterson, and Hickton, Alessrs J. B. Auld, J. Patterson, A. E. AVerry, AV. B. Gelston, C. Mori, N. Lawn, I. Patterson, P. 11. Instone, AV. B. Auld. The Chairman said the meeting was called to make the final arrangements for the reception. He reported that the Ladies’ Committee had the catering for the children well in hand. All that was now required would be the assistance of three or four men on Thursday afternoon. The children would be supplied with refreshments at the State School on their way to town. The Railway Department were decorating the Railway Station, but the Council ’s platform would also require decorating. This matter was in the hands of Alessrs R. AVills and staff, and he asked anyone who could assist, to do so. A letter was read from the Girl Guides asking to be appointed a Guard of Honour. It was decided that the Girl Guides, Cadets, Territorials, and Returned Soldiers be all asked to take part in .the reception. Air Jas. Pattersen and Air Instone proposed that letters be written to the Ikamatua, AVaiuta, Landing, and Inangahua Junction schools, asking the number of children that are coming in to meet the Royal party. —Carried. Air Steel, the newly-appoiirted Stationmaster, arrived in Reefton on Saturday.
