NEW STATE BOARD. . . 1 AIOSTLY OFFICIALS. WELLINGTON, Alarch 1. The Alinister of Finance (Hon. W. Downie Stewart), announced to-day the personnel of the Local Government Loan Board has now been completed under the legislation passed last sea son. The Board is constituted as fol-' l ows ,—The officers for the time being holding in the Public Service the offices of Secretary to the Treasury and, Eugineer-in-Chief of the Public Works Department ,and five other persons to be appointed by the Governor-General. The Governor-General has appointed the following: —Alessrs R. A. Anderson Invercargill; G. C. Godfrey, Wellington W. J. Holdsworth, Auckland; G. A. Lewin, Dunedin; and S. A. R. Al air, Ilunterville. These latter appointments will be for a period of one year from April 1. The Local Government Loans Board Act comes into operation on April aud it is intended to assemble the Board immediately in order to decide on the formal procedure, so that there will be no delay in dealing with the local authority applications. The chairman t of the Board will be Air. Hayes, Secretary to the Treasury. Air. Anderson is a well-known business man at Invercargill and is the present manager of the J. G. Ward Company ami a member of the South land Power Board and the Bluff liar hour Board. Air. Godfrey was Assistant Unde: Secretary of the Public Works Department until 1923, and was one of the original members of the Highways Board. He is now the permanent head of the Alarine Department. Air. Lewin is Dunedin’s town clerk, and is looked upon as an authority or.
