SOCCER.
WEST COAST ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Westland Football Association was held in the old Band Room on Saturday evening when a good attendance got through the business in gooil time. Mrßiehmond was voted to the chair, sml,‘ after a few Opening remarks, called upon the Secretary to read the minutes of the previous annual meeting which wire duly Confirmed. The annual report was then read and received and the balance sheet showing a credit balance, was received ft t satlisfaetrhy. Mr. Robertson, was elected President, and on taking the ' hair he thanked those present in a few h ell chosen words. The Vice Presidents elected were: Messrs Airey, Crahkshaw, Hughes (Dobson), McLean, Cox and Campbell. To the position of SecretaryTreasurer, Mr. .1. Sharp was re-elected find Mr. Balderstone was elected auditor. It was resolved that a Management Committee be elected to conduct the business of the Association and the fol lowing were elected:—The President and Messrs Airey, Crankshaw, Rutherford and the Secretary. It was resolved that all nominations of clubs for Senior and Junior Competitions be in the Secretary’s hands by March Bth.. accompanied by two guineas for nomina lions’ fee for seniors. It was also decided to lew gate receipts to the extent of 25 per cent. It was resolved that Clubs send in themames of referees as early as possible. A committee to conduct the schools football resulted in Messrs Bassett, Williams, Wick Pearson and Rev. Brothers Paschal and Tarcisius being chosen. The President donInted a set of medals for the winners df the B. Grade competition. Correspondence in connection with the Canadian visit and proposed visits by Canterbury Senior and School Rep teams was read. It will be dealt with at an early date bv the Management Committee. The proposed Canterbury games are due to be played on March 26th. (Excursion Day). SCOTLAND BEATS IRELAND. LONDON, February 26. At Belfast Scotland beat Ireland at Soccer by 2 to 0. There were forty tho’ieand spectators. The weather was fine.
