AN ABORIGINAL STATE.
AUSTRALIAN PROPOSAL. ADELAIDE, Feb. 22. A petition authorised by the Aborigines Protection League of South Australia, is being presented to the Federal Parliament, as soon as possible after the transfer to Canberra, asking that a model Aboriginal State be constituted, to be managed ultimately by a native tribunal as far as possible according to their laws. The petition also asks that provision lie made that ultimately the Government be conducted bv aborigines, and at some future time the Administrator himself be an aboriginal.
