AUSTRALIAN S SUCCESS. LONDON, Feb. 20. Gladys Moncrieff had a wonderful reception at Daly’s Theatre, when taking the place of Elizabeth Pechy in the leading part of the ‘‘ Blue Mazurka” her singing charmed the audience who loudly applauded every number. The “Daily Express’s” critique of Miss Moncrieff in the “Blue Mazurka’ states: Though managers for a year have been searching for stars, her fine stage presence and magnificent soprano were not thought worthy of attention. They must have been wondering on Saturday night why a lady, who Came thirteen thousand miles to be spurned, ‘looked beautiful and sang divinely. BRITISH SINGER’S PARIS SUCCESS. (Reed. Feb. 21 at 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. Feb. 20. The Daily Telegraph’s Paris correspondent says: The Paris Opera Housu was crowded to hoar Air Brownlee sint. His appearance proved a triumph, he receiving six recalls after the second act.
