SAWMILL DESTROYED.

FIRE AT KOTUKU. Yesterday morning a destructive fire occurred at Kotuku, completely destroying the sawmill of Mrs Thomas Dillon, with the exception of the engine. It is not known what the cause of the outbreak was. Mr Olsen passed the mill about 1 a.m. in his motor car, when there was no sign whatever of fire. An hour later, however, the mill was ablaze, and there was no chance of saving it. The engine was scarcely damaged, but all the other apparatus was demolished, as well as the structure. There was no loss of timber, as the output is stacked at some distance from the mill. The loss of the mill will throw fourteen workers out of employment.
