THIRTY MILE SWIM.
HAMILTON MAN’S FEAT. HAMILTON, February IS. C. V. Davus, a Hamilton swimmer, who attempted to break the world’s ■fresh water record by swimming from Cambridge to Taupiri, a distance of 36 miles, gave up at Ngaruawahia, owing to the effects of cold water. He was responsible for a fine perxormanec, swimming 30 miles in the Waikato River in about 8J hours.
