WEDNESDAY’S SALES. West Coast lambs were sold in large numbers at Addington this week. Sales were:—R. Harcourt (Koiterangi) 54 at 21/- to 22/10; Ryan and Sons (Roto manu) 80 at 19/- to 22/4; H. Kennedy (Ahaura) 26 at 22/-, C. Sadler (West Coast) 35 at 20/10; Mrs E. E. Butler (Kahikatca) 10 at 20/-. R. A. Harcourt (Koiterangi) 110 at 21/10 to 25/7; Colonel Whitmore (Rotomanu) 79 at 21/7 to 21/7; Store lambs sorer well, being up 6d per head. Best rape lambs 18/- to 20/- medium sorts 16/- to 17/6, smallei 14/- to 15/6. Fat cattle were in excess ol the requirements and prices dropped on last week by 20/- to 30/- per head, according jo weights and quality. With the over-supply, competition was slack and several lines were passed. The entry was 630 head. The sale was irregular and values were down about 25/ on last week. Choice beef to 35/- per 100 lbs, prime steer and heifer 30/- to 33/6. heavy medium class beef 26/1 to 30/and rough down to 32/6. Pigs were in targe supply. There were about 250 from the West Coast. The bacon de maud was easier, heavy pigs being unsaleable. Choppers 50/- to £5/6/- light baconers £3/10/- to £4, heavy baconers, £4/2/6 to £4/7/6, extra heavy baconers to £4/12/-, average price per lb. 5d to 61d, light porkers 47/6 to 53/-, heavy porkers 57/6 to 64/-, average price pel lb. 71 d to 81(1. A good entry of stores met with very brisk demand, values being up by 2/- per head all round. Small weaners 15/- to 18/6, indium weaners 20/- to 23/-, better sorts 23/6 to 26/-. small stores 27/6 to 35/, medium stores 36/- to 42/-, large stores 56/. Sheep were fewer than last sale, over nine races being offerer?. fpt sheep values were better by 2/- than at last week. Extra wether 32/10, prime 25/9 to 27/6, medium 23/9 to 25/6, light 21/6 to 23/6, extra ewes to 26/10 prime 17/6 to 21/-, medium 14/6 to 17/light__l2/6 to 14/-, aged 10/- to 12/-. Store sheep values fell 1/ to 1/6 lower than last week. Best Romney’ twotooth ewes 30/- to 32/tr, medium 24/- to 26/-, four, six and eight tooth Romney cross ewes .19/- to 22/-, four and five year ewes 17/- to -20/-. A fair propor tion of the yarding was passed.
Forward lambs 19/- to 20/6-, medium 17/- to 18/6, medium half-bred lambs 16/- to 17/9, two-tooth half-bred ewes to 28/6, four to six-tooth cross bred ewes 25/6 to 27/-, age<t, crossbred ewes 5/- to 9/-, 4/6 tooth half bred wethers 20/- to 21/-, two-tooth crossbred wethers 17/9 to 18/9.
