CO-OP. COAL MINERS.
SUPPLY OF ELECTRICITY. In his report to the Power Hoard last evening, the Engineer stated:— After interviewing a number uf the ce-opm* ative miners at Dunollie, ami also corresponding with them in connection with the supply of electrical energy, two of the parties have signified their willingness to take a supply. This necessitates heavier guarantees being required, however, than if a larger number of consumers were to be supplied. One of the parties is agreeable to paving the increased guarantee, but the other party state that they are not in a position to do so at the present time. The estimated cost of this line will b* approximately £1650. It is more than probable that the connecting of one or two consumers to the supply at the present time will eventually lead to a number of others being connected in the near future. It is a matter for tho Board’s decision as to whether this line should be constructed under the present circumstances. Most of the material is available from stock, or from stock shortly arriving, with the exception of the transformers, for which arrangements would have to be made. it was decided by the Board that a committee, comprising Messrs Green I sla.de (chairman), O’Brien, Duggan, and Lvthgoe (Engineer), interview the various co-operative parties with a view to making suitable arrangements for sup plying power to them.
