The stone in the stopes here is getting- shorter as we ■ stope up. • There is stane ; on the footwall side which has every appearance of living aibout No. 4 level— Trie main 'drive No 4 level has been produced 38ft on the "line of reef." The winze below the intermediate No. 4 level, Tias been sunk a further depth of 14 feet, total depth, 28 feet. The new reef No 7 level — the drive on the reef has been produced 31 feet, total dis•tnncc driven on stone 69 feet. The stone in the east end has narrowed down to about 1 foot wide. There is a fair amount of water coming out of the stone. We have opened out on the west side of the crosscut, there is about 18 inches of stone in this face. will drive the both faces next month. We are also taking off the leading . stope here. The quality of stone in this, block is good. North workings — we have started to put up a rise from No. 7 level in the crosscut, itowards the inside shaft. It is up lift. 896 tons of quartz have been sent to the battery and 914 tons crushed for a return of 1760zs Bdwts of melted gold from the Jbattery, and 84ozs 17dwts of gold from cyanide, Total 2610zs sdwts gold.
