The census returns for Wellington and districts show tfiat the city proper fias gained 571*2 in population since 1906, while Wellington and sub urbs not including Petone and Hutt ana adjacent districts have gained 8066. j.. will be seen that there is an apparent decrease in the population of Onslow and Karori. The explanation is that portions of these &©?• oughs have been included in the city since 1906. Makara County and Upper Hut* town district did not exist in 1906. ; The increase in Wellington and suburbs has averaged over 1200 per ytar. PALMERSTON N., April 26. Census returns for ■■ Palmerston North Borough show, population 10.---985 against 10,237 at last census, or an increase of 748.
