All work' was done on ifte outside of 'the course proper. The < going was excellent though .slightly holding. Dearest did a mile at three quarter, pace. Gipsy Belle and Kina liid stead y exercise. Bootle, Formby, Woodhey and Altear all did moderate tasks. Laius easily beat St. Felix by thiee lengths over six furlongs in 1.16. Aloh, who had the advantage in weights, beat St. Petersburg by two lengths over five furlongs in 1.4£. Masterpiece appeared to go well. Peirene and Mazurka^ spurted six furlongs comforta6ly : in 1.18 2-5. Or ton sprinted half a mile. Lady Moutua, who looks fit, was restricted to steady pacing. Danube, with a featherweight up, Directoire and Vice Admiral galloped a mile and three lurlonffs, - the last mile being covered in 1.48 3-5. The St. Leger colt was running along- well within himself, but was ccn siderably distressed on pulling up. Vice Admiral looks Well, but his display was not altogether pleasing. Sunburnt, who makes a noise, went once round at half pace znd sprinted four furlongs in 51secs. • BanSiera did half , a mile in 53. , Khamsin and Aphaea did half a mile in 53. Equitas' did the last four or five . furlongs in 50 3-osecs, a satisfactory performance. After, breakfast Gold Lace did a useful task alone. \ Royal Scotch easily ran ahe . last four or five furlongs in 50. iranui and Mira' sprinted a mile. Effort covered a mile at three-quar-ter pace. Cheddar and Montiform galloped a mile in 1.47 1-5, neither being ridden out. • " Sea Queen, with a great disadvantage in weights, easily "beat Obsono and Merrivonia over five farlongs in 1.4. My Lawyer did the last "seven furlongs of a mile in 1.38.
