Sir,— l live an' tne upper portion of &hciK«jspeare bcreei, and 'have reason two or tnree times a weeic to alight from the JtlokitiKa train at the JbLaroro station, which i venture to say is the blackest part of the Borough of Ureymouth. iVow 1 reckon this is the time- to ,-a.sk His Worship the Mayor ana the budding councillors if they will' approve of a gas lamp beingplaced opposite this much used station. This part of the Borough, is rapidly .growing into an important thoroughfare and should receive more attention than it does from our city fathers. If a lamp was placed at the spot mentioned it could bring far more kudos to His Worship the Mayor from the people in this locality than his last action did when he headed a petition to the County Council to allow the strench that arises from some boiling down works on the Paroa Road to continue. — Your, etc.,
