<»- MUNICIPAL THEATRE. TO-NIGHT. Tke Baldwin Mahatma Company will open their season this evening at the Town Hall, and submit an extremely interesting' and diversified programme. The latest novelites in magic obtained by Dr. Rowe on his recent visit to England from a grqat attraction. He presents a series of legerdemain events, including the Egyptian jar, a merv'ollous experiment with water, shown for the first time in New Zealand, an 3* the spirit hand, said to 'be a test of modern spiritualism, which completely mystifies the audience while his smart patter and repartee keep the audience on the best of terms. Mora, the original "White Mahatma," presents a series of psychological . problems which include the knight's move on the chess board, and astounding feats of memory with number, and names. Koko, a Japanese lady, appears in a "spectacular and, pretty act. From a bowl she brings scores' of articles, which dnclude four large -balloons, and on a large frame of plush draws pictures in coloured sands. At the conclusion the stage resembles a scene from fairy Lino. The performance concludes with- an- exposition of clairvoyance and thought transmission by Mora, who describes the .-whereabouts of absent friends.
