REEFTON NOTES.

:(Our Correspondent.)

All arrangements are now in a forward way for the Convent School annual concert which as usual takes place on race nights in the Theatre Royal, and to-night a full dress rehearsal will be witnessed by a number of the public, who are taking great interest in the programme. Mr G. Martinengo (Urban Bio. Co.), who had arranged a programme for the same nights has, I believe, kindly withdrawn. This is not the first occasion that Mr Martiengo has shown his loyalty to the Reefton people, not only .by keeping strictly to the theatrical principle of not clashing in a small town with local benefit entertainments, but by materially assisting otherwise. The Inangahua Brass Band have consented to play both evenings gratuitously. The annual school concert is one o fthe most popular local entertainments of the year, and on this occasion the very pretty and attractive operatic "Cinderella" will 'be staged % the pupils, and, if one may judge by the interest alreadj' shown, the entertainments will equal the promoters past efforts. . . .-.
