CONCLUDING DAY. (By Telegraph — Per Press Association) HOKITIKA, April 21 The splendid weather .which has been experienced by the racing ciuos for their autumn meetings, continued to-day when the local club's gathering" was concluded. The attendance was only fair, but the racing was of a first-class order, record faeius and close and exciting finishes being- the order of the day. The totahsator investments amounted to £4054 which, with the previous day's business, made a total of ,£8334 for the meeting. 'Results are: — Miners' Purse Handicap, of 25 soys seven furlongs— Miss Sylvia (9.2) 1, The Orient (6.7) 2, Pure Rose (7.13) 3. Wairarapa also started. Hillspring was left at the post. Miss Sylvia took command shortly after the start> and won easily. A good race resulted between the other placed horses. Time 1.34. Electric Handicap, of 40 soys, five turlongs— Millionaire (6.7) 1. Montague (7.12) 2, Yeodel (8.3) 3. Also started — Surmount, Katua, Balmy Breeze, Featherstone, Expansion, Jennie Colleen, Glenrock, Seaspray. A splendid race. Won by a short length. Time 1.5, Provincial Handicap Trot, of 80 soys, U miles— Wedgewood (23secs) 1 Mt. Camelback (19) 2, Andante (16) 3. Also started. Blaoksand, Comrade, Amber Tips, Westland, Convent Bell, Discovery 11. Chips. Victory, Royal Princess, Omega, Vivitte Old Ginger. Loyal, Lady Nut and. Sidus were scratched. Wedgewood trotted consistently throughout, and won with a good deal to spare. A good race resulted among the otfeer placed horses. Time 4.14 1-5. Easter Handicap— -Wild Bird (8.4) 1 The Cornet (8.6) 2, Tangeroa (8.1) 3. Also started: King Try, Aberestion, Gold Braid, Waiwareware, First View, The Orient. iNordoff, Negative and Hillspring were scr. Wild Bird went to the tront and was never headed. A dingdong finish between the other placed horses resulted, the rest of the field being- close up. Time 1.44. bounty Handicap Trot, of 35 soys, two miles— Andante (18) 1, Teresima (14) 2, Mt. Camelback (35) 3. Aiso started: Blacksand, Amber Tips, Kautapu, Tiita H., Paranui, Chips, Maimot, Malabar and Omega. This was a splendid race, the placed horses being close together. Time 5.19. Welter Weight Handicap, of 40 soys, 6^ furlongs — North Pole '(11.3) 1, Miss Sylvia (9.7) 2. Hillspring (9.1) ,3. Also started— Waiwareware iNegative and First View. Divorce and Obigate were scr. This was another excellent race, probably the best of the day. Time 1.24 4-5. Farewell Handicap, of 40 soys, 55 furlongs— Montague (7.12) 1, Expansion (7.10) 2, Ito (10.10) 3. Also started: Surmount. Moata. Supplement. Wild Bird and Featherstone were scratched. Won by a length and a half. Time 1.10 1-B.
