-. The weather summary and forecast are as follow!; : — The barometer has fallen everywhere and very To\v~ln far north. Easterly winds have prevailed and strong to gale in many parts, but decreased in the north today. Heavy rain fell on the east coast during- the night and gloomy and shower y conditions predominated. Present indications are for rain and stormy weather generally, rivers rising over the North Island and on the east, coast of the South Island. The winds will probably veer to northerly in far north and increase, and easterly winds strong to gale are probable elsewhere. The barometer will probably fall in most ports of the country." but rise smnrtlv for^a timo in northernmost districts soon.
