The Lusitania ran on the locks during moonlight and crippled ber bow. All hands were in contusion, but there was no real panic, two hundred and fifty natives bt laving admirably. Some Europeans rufhed the boats before the women and children were comfortably stowed in them. The women were scantily clad as some had only blankets and socks. They landed in a famished condition. Fog made the rescue diffi cult. Three persons were drowned. The Lusitania subsequently sank.
