PUBLIC NOTICES. liOROUGH ELECTION. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE BOROUGH OF G-REYMOUTJI. Ladies and Gentlemen. — HALVING acceeded to the numerous requests I have received, both verbally and in writing, to again stand for a seat on the Borough Council, ■ I desire to state that it was contrary to my wish to again contest the seat. But seeing that I am at the present time a party to an action in regard to the rights of the Councillors to be heard at the Council table and not be prevented from expressing their opinion freely and • openly, I deem it my duty to see the matter out. As this may involve "con siderable discussion in future 1, having taken the initiative steps towards upholding freedom of speech to the people's representatives, am therefore desirious of supporting my own action and if you do me the honour to again elect me to a seat on the Council, I shall do my duty as I have already attempted, and I believe successfully, to uphold the right against wrongs which have existed hith erto. 1 will not venture to direct attention to what public duties i have performed except to say truit in my two year's, career now ended, I have always been at my post and have done what 1 could to set our municipal government . in good order. That there is much more to do is ai once apparent and the newly "elected Council . will have responsibilities thrown on them which they cannot shirk. Therefore a few experienced Councillors will prove of more value fit this juncture than an entirely new Council. TEanking you, in anticipation, for your support, bea- to subscribe myself Your most obedient Servant, JAMES P.
