MUNICIPAL MATTERS
Municipal politics are now engaging general attention after the holidays and the campaign is in full swing. There are three candidates for the Christ.church Mayorality, viz., C. Allison, T. E. Taylor and H. T. J. Thacker. There are 32 candidates for seats on the City Council. The latest move has been the formation of a Citizen's Municipal Association apparently with the object of meeting the agitation for labour representation. The committee of the new Association has come late into the field and the Labour organisations have been busy for many weeks. Mr M. J. Miller has been elected Mayor of Lyttleton, McGregor Wright for Woolston, and H. J. Marriner for. Sumner, R. Wylie for Kaiapoi and E. R. Good for Rangiora.
