EASTER SUNDAY AT THE HOSPITAL
(Contributed.)
faster is set apart for special religious services throughout ttie" Christian worldj commemorating, as it does, the one great fact on which our faith is based — the rising of our Lord from the grave. I doubt if in cathedral aisle, or dim religious light, a more sincere and impressive serbice was held than . that by the Christian Endeavour Societies of Greymouth on Easter Sunday. Special hymns and sermon were selected, the hymns being sweetly sung by the chair. The duet, 'My Anchor Holds* •by Mr. andJVlrs McDonald (from Ross) was good to hear, and think over.
Every three weeks these young men and women, led by Mr McConchie and Miss Stone, attend the Hospital in the hope to benefit those not able to attend their "devotions elsewhere. Perhaps little is heard of them outside., of Greymouth. No reward is. theirs save that best of acts, . the knowledge of a duty performed. Surely this is true charity. I am voicing the feelings of all here in assuring them that their services are greatly appreciated. Surely the' Master will say, "Well done!"
The Jane .^Douglas, owing to the continuance of unfavourable weather conditions at the southern ports, has not yet been able to sail for South Westland, .but will leave Holdtika as soon as . the sea moderates.
