Mr Lloyd George's Invalidity, and Bill amending law for the employment of trade union funds, will be introduced before Whitsuntide. Hobhouse admitted that the sinkingfunds lost six hundred and eightythousand pounds through the Treasury's refusal tn collect income tax. Mr MacNamara, Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty, has stated A that the Shearwater landed men at San Quentin on April 15th, at the request of the British American 'subjects, to protect their lives and property in the absence of the Mexican officials. They re-embarked 24 hours later. Lord Hugh Cecil's amendment was rejected Iby a hundred and eighty six to a hundred and twenty-eight, requiring that payment to Commoners be not regarded as a money .bill. Mr Asquith said the Lords had no rigrht to deal with the matter of payment, which could be included in an appropriation bill. , - Mr Balfour said it was clear the Government contemplated taking great questions of policy, as moneybills. It was a gross abuse to thus scatter" "largesse" to Commoners.
