At to-uay's meeting: of the TaraaaKi, Land Board reference was made to the fact that Mr Simpson, 'Commissioner, who was absent through illness, was retiring . at tne end ot April. At the conclusion of the meeting members visited Mr Simpson at his house and Mr J. Heslop, on their behalf presented him with a handsome case of pipes and a silver mounted match .box., OIL. Activity continues at the Taranaki Petroleum Coy's bores at Moturoa. Shares which a few months jago went begging at four or .five shillings are now selling- at par.
